10 Best Defensive Coordinators in College Football
No. 10 Dave Wommack, Ole Miss
Dave Wommack is an experienced, respected and productive coach.
Since 2012, he’s guided Ole Miss. Wommack’s defenses have never finished below a No. 21 ranking in S&P+, highlighted by a No. 1 spot in 2014. The “Landsharks” surrendered a Football Bowl Subdivision-best 16.0 points per game that year.
Before landing in Oxford, he was the coordinator for Arkansas State (2011), Georgia Tech (2008-09) and Arkansas (2002-2004), among a few others. Wommack also served as a position coach at South Carolina.
The 2016 campaign will be Wommack’s 38th season on a sideline.

Oxford Police Twitter strikes again, pokes fun at Sports Illustrated’s Tunsil report
As seen on Wednesday, the Laremy Tunsil saga is back in the news. Tunsil’s stepfather, Lindsey Miller, spent over 100 hours talking with the NCAA about allegations regarding Ole Miss and his son, reigniting talk about what how the NCAA will handle the situation.
About an hour and a half after Sports Illustrated’s Pete Thamel tweeted a link to his new Tunsil story, the Oxford Police Department went to work on Twitter. Since the meeting between NCAA investigators and Lindsey Miller took place at a local McDonald’s, the PD’s handle had some fun with it:
The tweet wasn’t a complete troll on the situation, as from 2-4 p.m., on July 13, residents can join their local police department at the town’s University Avenue McDonald’s location. It’s doubtful knowing how open they will be talking about Tunsil and the Rebels that day while eating their happy meals, but since the tweet was sent out, mixed emotions came from the lively voices on Twitter.

The stadium expansion is a joke. Looks like a modified mobile home. All that’s missing is a 1978 Ford LTD on cinder blocks. Stop paying players so much and spend more money on dynamite to implode Hammingway. #Loserville
