Oxford Crime Report for Wednesday, June 29 – Simple Assault, Fire Alarms
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: seven suspicious activities, five alarms, two disturbances, two complaints of lost property, a civil matter, a welfare concern, a reported DUI, a malicious mischief, a littering, a fire department assist, a credit card fraud, an ambulance assist, a scam and a motorist assist.
Oxford police investigated two wrecks, issued 27 traffic citations and made five arrests on the following charges:
DUI (wreck)
Simple assault
Careless driving and DUI
Expired tag, no driver’s license and no insurance
One headlight, suspended driver’s license and no insurance
Lafayette County police responded to the following incidents: five service calls, two alarms, two accidents, two disturbances, two petit larcenies, two juvenile complaints, two civil matters, a transportation, a suspicious activity and a traffic complaint.
University police responded to the following incidents: two vehicle stops, a vehicle accident on Fraternity Row and a suspicious vehicle in the South lot.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Fire alarm at Alpha Tau Omega house
Fire alarm at Johnson Commons
Fire alarm but no cause at Stewart Hall
Fire alarm set off by workers at Oxford Rehab located at 1301 Belk Boulevard
