Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Sunday, June 24-26: Shoplifting, Public Intoxication
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 15 suspicious activities, seven alarms, six noise violations, six ambulance assists, six welfare concerns, four reported DUI drivers, four disturbances, four malicious mischief, three illegally parked cars, three civil matters, two animal complaints, two complaints of lost property, two simple assaults, two petit larcenies, two fire department assists, two residential burglaries at Highland Place and Burney Branch, a grand larceny, a 911 hang up call, harassing phone calls, a forgery, a scam and a shoplifting.
Oxford police investigated 12 wrecks, issued 54 traffic citations and made 20 arrests on the following charges:

DUI
Trespassing
Embezzlement
Ran a red light and DUI
Careless driving and DUI
Careless driving, minor in possession and DUI
Careless driving and suspended driver’s license
No headlights, suspended driver’s license and DUI
No seatbelt, expired tag and suspended driver’s license
Ran a red light, expired tag and suspended driver’s license
Careless driving, no insurance, no driver’s license and DUI
Ran a stop sigh, careless driving and possession of Schedule II narcotics
University police responded to the following incidents:

Moving violation per running a stop sign and careless driving on Hill Drive
Moving violation per running a stop sign on Fraternity Row

Intoxicated person off-campus
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:

Smoke alarm at 924 Van Buren Avenue – there was no fire
Fire alarm at 2002 Oxford Way
Smell of smoke at 320B at South 18th Street
Fire alarm at 2100 Old Taylor Road
Smell of Smoke at 103 Ed Perry Boulevard – Hampton Inn
Saturday, June 25
Vehicle fire at 1101 Frontage Road
Fire alarm at Baptist Hospital
Assistance call at 719 North lamar
Sunday, June 26
Fire alarm at Chapel Lane
Fire alarm at Ole Miss Golf Course
