Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, June 21 – Harassing Phone Calls, House Burglary
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: seven suspicious activities, four alarms, a disturbance, a noise violation, a motorist assist, an ambulance assist, a reported DUI driver, a scam, a welfare concern, an auto burglary on Jackson Avenue East and a house burglary on Johnson Avenue.
Oxford police investigated six wrecks, issued 18 traffic citations and made three arrests on the following charges:
DUI
Public intoxication
Speeding, no driver’s license and no insurance
University police responded to the following incidents: harassing phone calls at Intercollegiate Athletics and two vehicle stops.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Water flow alarm at 2:01 p.m. due to faulty air compressor at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium at East Side Club
Smoke detector activation at 3:19 p.m. due to fumigating a room at Townhouse Suites by Marriott
Cancelled call at 5:43 p.m. at 767 Nottingham
