36 Traffic Citations Issued And 10 Arrests Made
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 12 suspicious activities, five alarms, four embezzlements, three disturbing the peace, two ambulance assists, two malicious mischief, two careless driving, a welfare concern, a fire department assist, an elderly assist, a found property, a parking complaint, a civil matter, a counterfeit currency, an animal complaint, an open door, an information report, a shoplifting, a larceny and a burglary.
Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued 36 traffic citations and made 10 arrests on the following charges:
(3) Public intoxication
DUI to first degree
Careless driving, DUI to first degree
Ran stop sign, suspended driver’s license and no insurance
Improper lane use, suspended driver’s license and DUI to first degree
Careless driving, color of lighting devices and DUI to second degree
No seatbelt, no insurance and suspended driver’s license
Careless driving, possession of fake ID, DUI to first degree and resisting arrest
University police responded to the following incidents: a suspicious vehicle with possession of drug paraphernalia at Kincannon Hall parking lot, a trespassing at J.D. Williams Library, a warrant served at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, a vehicle accident at All-American Plaza with a moving violation per suspended driver’s license, a vehicle accident on Hill Drive, a service call for an ambulance at Lamar Hall, and a petit larceny off-campus.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Smoke detector malfunction at 5:46 p.m. on the first floor meeting room at Alpha Omicron Pi house
Public assist at 10:04 p.m. for the EMS with patient at 705 Martin Luther King circle
