SEC Country: Florida State Sells Out Ticket Allotment for Opener Against Ole Miss
Article by Nick Cole, courtesy SEC Country.
Ole Miss will open the 2016 football season with what is supposed to be a neutral-site game against Florida State.
But will that really be the case? The geographic location already favors the Seminoles, and it is starting to appear as though the game day crowd may do the same.
Florida State announced on Friday that it has already sold out its allotment of 31,900 tickets for the Sept. 5 meeting at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla.
According to the school’s release, the tickets were in pretty high demand for Seminoles fans. Jimbo Fisher’s team held its spring game in the venue.
“The demand for this game was extremely high and we are thrilled our fans made it a priority to be in the stands supporting the Seminoles for the season opener,” said Athletic Director Stan Wilcox. “We had a great experience in Camping World Stadium for our spring game and I believe our fans are even more excited to see the Monday night primetime game versus Ole Miss.”
There are 70,000 seats at the recently renovated venue, which has been home to the Citrus Bowl (Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl) for years.
At the time of this story, there was not an official number of tickets sold by Ole Miss. Tickets are still available to members of Florida Citrus Sports, according to Florida State’s release.
