The American Family Insurance All-USA Baseball teams have been selected on Wednesday, and two future Ole Miss Rebels are chosen in the first and second teams.

Those two players are Thomas Dillard and Jason Barber, both a part of the Oxford High School Chargers baseball team. Dillard is the team’s catcher while right-handed Jason Barber is the pitcher.

Oxford Chargers’ coach Chris Baughman is proud of the two young athletes.

“I feel as though we had several that were deserving of that honor. I am proud of and proud for them for being selected to the team, and I can wait to watch them along with Houston and Grae at Ole Miss the next few years,” said Baughman.

Both help lead Oxford to win the 5A state title for the second straight season.

Dillard led the Chargers at the dish with a .438 batting average, driving in a total of 49 RBI and 16 home runs.

Barber finished his senior season with a 10-2 record, with a 1.08 ERA and 126 strikeouts in 78 innings of work. He helped Oxford with his bat as well by hitting .330 on the season, with five homers and 37 RBI.

Dillard and Barber will join two of their former Chargers teammates Grae Kessinger and Houston Roth in a Rebel uniform next season.
