Ole Miss Athletics Offers Personalized Instruction in Summer Camps
With summer here, the kids are obviously looking for activities to enjoy under the hot sun. Those who love playing sports this summer can excel on the field by learning from the coaches and players on the Ole Miss campus.
Ole Miss Athletics is offering several different camps for a variety of sports in the next two months. Each sports camp offers the participants the opportunity to hone their skills, especially those who are serious about pursuing a career in athletics. The campers have the option of attending football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer and tennis camps.

The next football half-day camps are set for July 21 and 22. On July 21, the high school students will receive personalized instruction from Ole Miss Football staff on playing as the quarterback and wide receivers as well as participate in the Specialist Camp. On July 22, this half-day camp will instruct general football playing to high school students from 10 a.m.

The last men’s basketball camp of this summer is underway right now. However, the women’s basketball camps for girls in grades 7 to 12 are this Friday, June 17, and on August 20.
These women’s basketball camps will teach elite skills to girls in middle school to high school. This Thursday, June 17, registered basketball teams will participate in the Team Shootout where they have the opportunity to play as many games they choose against each other in one day.
Ole Miss Women’s Basketball also offers team camps on June 28 and 29 where the middle school and high school teams can play against other participating teams in facilities like the Pavilion at Ole Miss. The teammates will receive personalized instruction through drills, demos and scrimmages that mimic a Division I College practice.

The baseball camp for first grade to eighth grade is scheduled for June 27 to 30. Students in first grade to senior year of high school can sign up for baseball camps on July 11 to 14 and July 18 to 21. These baseball camps are open to a variety of skill levels and the campers will receive instruction from the top coaches in the country while at the Oxford-University Stadium. Ole Miss Soccer is currently hosting the Residential Camp for co-eds aged nine to 18 years old this week. The upcoming camps this June are Day Camp for co-eds aged four to 13 years old on June 20 to 23, the Prospect ID Camp for girls only aged 13 to 18 years old on June 24 to 26. On July, Ole Miss Soccer has two more camps: the Residential Camp July 10-14 and Team Camp/ID Camp for girls only on July 14-17. Those interested can register online.
Ole Miss Volleyball has three camps scheduled for July. The first one is Ole Miss Position Camp for grades 9 to 12 on July 7 to 9. Children in second grade to eighth grade can enjoy ‘Lil Rebel Day Camp on July 11 to 14. It will have an Ole Miss Skills Camp on July 14 to 17 for grades 9 to 12. Ole Miss Volleyball also has online registration.
Ole Miss Softball is currently hosting an All-Skills Camp for those aged nine to 18 years old this week. For June, Ole Miss Softball offers the Elite Prospect Camp for those aged 12 to 18 years old on June 20 to 22. Skipping July, Ole Miss Softball will have a Back to School Camp on August 27 and 28 for Sessions I, II and III with Session IV for the Little Rebs Camp on August 28.
Ole Miss Tennis is hosting three camps for June, with the first one currently underway this week. The second camp is next week, June 19 to 23, and the third camp is on June 26 to 30. Ole Miss Tennis coaches Tony Hanasson (men’s tennis) and Mark Beyers (women’s tennis) are conducting the instructional sessions. These camps are open to all skill levels.
