Oxford Crime Report: Wednesday, June 8 – Credit Card Fraud, Smoking Vehicle

Youren Lin – Credit Card Fraud
Oxford police detectives arrested Youren Lin, Xiaoxi Lin and Zhenyuan Weng (all from New York) for Credit Card Fraud. The detectives found the suspects in possession of fake credit cards which had the victims’ bank information that they used at local businesses in Oxford area. All three are currently being held at the Lafayette County Detention Center with a bond of $30,000 each.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: eight disturbances, five suspicious persons/vehicles, five reports of careless drivers, three alarms, two motorist assists, an ambulance assist, a fire department assist, a larceny, a welfare concern and a burglary at Anchorage Road (no forced entry).
Oxford police investigated three wrecks, issued 24 traffic citations and made two arrests on the following charges:
Shoplifting
Public drunk
University police responded to the following incidents: an accidental hit and run at Old Athletics building, an accidental hit and run in Big Valley Lot, a vandalism per malicious mischief at Lester Hall and a vehicle accident at George Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Report of a vehicle smoking at 8:48 a.m. in Bailey’s Woods – turned out to be a person smoking a cigarette in the car
Cancelled call at 12:54 p.m. at Captain D’s
Alarm at 3:40 p.m. due to burned food smoking in the oven and the residents thought the oven was on fire at Campus Creek
Stand by at 4:26 p.m. due to construction workers hitting a gas main at Honors College area at University of Mississippi
