Oxford Crime Report: Monday, June 6 – Grand Larceny, Embezzlement
William Hammond – Embezzlement
On May 26, Oxford police officers took a report of an embezzlement that started around February 28. The victim stated that employee, William Hammond (23 of Oxford), embezzled around $4,275 from Habits Tobacco. On June 3, Hammond was arrested for Embezzlement. Hammond was taken before Judge Carolyn Bell for his Initial Appearance and his bond was set at $5,000.
Pashay Alston – Grand Larceny
On June 6, Oxford police investigators arrested Pashay Alston (23 of Covington, Tennessee) for Grand Larceny. Pashay Alston and two friends were entertainers at a house party and the trio of friends left with a laptop and sunglasses. The two friends are still at large but warrants have been issued against them. Pashay Alston was booked for Grand Larceny (97-17-41) and her bond was set at $2,500.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five suspicious activitites, four alarms, two motorist assists, two civil matters, two welfare concerns, two malicious mischief, two complaints of lost property, a grand larceny, an ambulance assist, a shoplifting, a simple assault and a stolen trailer recovered.
Oxford police investigated six wrecks, issued 32 traffic citations and made six arrests on the following charges:
Warrant served
Public intoxication
Expired tag and DUI
Speeding, no insurance and no driver’s license
Expired tag and possession of drug paraphernalia
One headlight, no insurance, suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia
University police responded to the following incidents: four vehicle stops, two suspicious persons at Lamar Hall and Ole Miss Union, vehicle accident at Pittman Hall, and a disturbance at Campus Walk Apartments.
Oxford Fire Department received no emergency calls.
