Oxford Crime Report for Tuesday, June 1 – Warrants Served, Domestic Violence
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 16 suspicious persons/vehicles, five alarms, four careless drivers, three disturbances, three welfare concerns and an improper parking.
Oxford police investigated three wrecks, issued 36 traffic citations and made seven arrests on the following charges:
(2) Warrants served (Contempt of Court; Out of Jurisdiction)
Domestic violence
Possession of fake ID
Public drunk, failure to comply
No tag and DUI to first degree
Wrong way on one way, suspended driver’s license and DUI to first degree
University police responded to the following incidents: two vehicle stops, vehicle accident at Acoustics Center, and two suspicious vehicles at Ford Center parking lot and Deaton Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
General fire alarm malfunction at 1:22 p.m. at Sigma Pi house
Smoke detector activation at 1:37 p.m. caused by spray cleaning products at Martin Hall
Cancelled call at 2:34 p.m. at Courtyard Marriott on Jackson Avenue
Smoke detector activation at 2:50 p.m. due to burned popcorn at The Blake
Smoke detector activation at 4:47 p.m. due to having moisture within at Martin Hall
Smoke detector activation at 7:00 p.m. caused by burned food at The Village
