Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, May 31 – Forgery, Auto Burglaries
Samantha Albritton – Forgery
On Tuesday May 31, Oxford police department’s investigators charged Samantha Albritton (29 of Water Valley) with Uttering Forgery (97-21-59). Albritton and her friend cashed unauthorized checks for over $1,000 that belonged to a business without the consent of the holder of the checking account. Her bond was set at $2,500.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four suspicious activities, three disturbances, three auto burglaries on Access Road, two fire department assists, two 911 hang up calls, two alarms, a grand larceny, an ambulance assist, an animal complaint, a petit larceny, a malicious mischief, and an illegally parked car.
Oxford police investigated five wrecks, issued 26 traffic citations and made three arrests on the following charges:
Domestic violence
Possession of drug paraphernalia (wreck)
Public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia
University police responded to the following incident: a vehicle stop on university campus.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Power line arcing at 7:42 a.m. caused by a limb at 321 Country Club Road
Smell of smoke at 2:09 p.m. at Mississippi Credit Union
Stand by at 2:51 p.m. while the workers changed out a chlorine tank at Winchester
Response at 6:45 p.m. due to a neighbor burning brush at 2222 Lee Loop.
