Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, May 24 – False Pretense, Flying Sparks
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four alarms, three disturbances, three welfare concerns, two forgeries, two ambulance assists, two fire department assists, two suspicious activities, a simple assault, a petit larceny, a motorist assist, an animal complaint and a careless driver.
Oxford police investigated five wrecks, issued 23 traffic citations and made three arrests on the following charges:
False pretense
Failure to comply
No tag, no insurance and suspended driver’s license
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops and a vehicle accident at Crosby Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Smoke alarm at 8:27 a.m. due to steam from a shower at the Veterans Home
Cancelled call at 3:37 p.m. at the Rooster’s
Smoke alarm malfunction at 3:47 p.m. at The Links Apartments
Smoke alarm at 6:57 p.m. due to smoke in the mechanical room caused by faulty wiring at Canterbury Crest
Alarm at 10:17 p.m. due to sparks flying behind the Kappa Kappa Gamma house but there was no fire
