Greek Rank: Sigma Nu Listed in Top Ten Philanthropy Events Nationwide
GreekRank.com recently posted its list of top ten philanthropy events nationwide, and University of Mississippi’s Epsilon Xi chapter of Sigma Nu was listed among the honorees.
The University of Mississippi’s Sigma Nu chapter is recognized for its annual philanthropy event, the Charity Bowl. Sigma Nu plays a football game against any other fraternity chapters to raise money for benefit of those who have paralysis.
This year, Sigma Nu donated $75,000 to former Oxford police officer, Kevin Orr, who was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident in 2008. Since then, Orr has recovered against all odds and went on to advocate for people with spinal injuries and disabilities.

Sigma Nu founded Charity Bowl in 1990 to honor Chucky Mullins, the late Ole Miss football player who became paralyzed the previous season at the 1989 Homecoming game versus the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Now 27 years later and counting, Sigma Nu will continue to fundraise to help those with paralysis in Chucky Mullins’ honor.
