David Henderson – Burglary
On May 11, Oxford police officers responded to a report of a subject inside a closed business. The caller said they were in the office when they saw someone on security cameras rummaging around within the business. That person heard someone in the office and fled. Upon arrival, the officers found a person matching the description given by the caller. They identified the man as David Joseph Henderson (20 of Opal Lane Ripon, California). After speaking with business owners and watching camera footage, the officers determined that he went in several other businesses: The Levee, The Corner Bar and Rafters after they were closed. On video, the officers could see Henderson trying to take drinks. When the officers stopped him, Henderson had a stack of wristbands in his pockets. He was then arrested for Burglary of a Commercial Building. He was taken before Judge Carolyn Bell for his initial appearance, and she set his bond at $2,500.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four alarms, three careless drivers, three suspicious activities, two disturbances, two complaints of lost property, two 911 hang up calls, two shopliftings, a public intoxication, a recovered property, a motorist assist, a credit card fraud and a grand larceny.
Oxford police investigated eight wrecks, issued 24 traffic citations and made — arrests on the following charges:
DUI (wreck)
Shoplifting
Public intoxication
No headlights and DUI
Careless driving and DUI
Running a stop sign and DUI
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Public intoxication and warrant served
Leaving the scene of an accident and DUI
University police responded to the following incidents: a traffic detail on Chucky Mullins Drive, possession of drug paraphernalia at Stockard Hall and possession of drug paraphernalia at Kincannon Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following call: smoke detector activation at 4:40 p.m. caused by water leaking onto it at Chi Omega house.
