Oxford Crime Report: Wednesday, May 11
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: nine suspicious activities, four disturbances, three alarms, three careless drivers, two shoplifting, two 911 hang up calls, two public intoxication, a scam, a motorist assist, an animal complaint, a harassment, a grand larceny, a civil matter, an illegally parked car, a malicious mischief and a credit card fraud.
Oxford police investigated 11 wrecks, issued 21 traffic citations and made two arrests on the following charges:
Warrant served
Careless driving, no driver’s license, no insurance and a warrant served
University police responded to the following incidents: two suspicious vehicles at Housing Warehouse and Campus Walk Apartments, a possession of drug paraphernalia at Kincannon Hall, a peeping tom at J.D. Williams Library, two accidental hit and runs at University Circle and Martin Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Smoke detector malfunction at 7:42 a.m. at Delta Psi house
Smoke detector activation at 6:35 p.m. caused by burned food at Canterbury Crest 122
Machine fire at 8:16 p.m. that went out before arrival at Winchester
Wreck extrication at 9:50 p.m. when a car hit a light pole and the fire department helped EMS place the passenger in backboard and extricated through the back hatch
Smoke detector activation at 11:06 p.m. caused by burned food at Northgate B107
