Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, May 10

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: three alarms, three suspicious activities, three welfare concerns, two complaints of lost property, two auto burglaries at The Mark apartments and Esplanade Ridge, an animal complaint, an illegally parked car, a fire department assist, a petit larceny, a 911 hang up call, a disturbance, a noise violation and a false pretense.

Oxford police investigated 11 wrecks, issued 40 traffic citations and made — arrests on the following charges:
(2) Possession of drug paraphernalia
No insurance and DUI (wreck)
Domestic violence – simple assault
No driver’s license and expired tag
Speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia
Noise violation and possession of drug paraphernalia
Expired tag, no insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia
Careless driving, suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia

University police responded to the following incidents: 10 vehicle stops.

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Medical assist at 2:49 p.m. at 49 Effie Circle, Apartment 35
Gas spill at 2:50 p.m. caused by a wreck at Thacker Loop on Highway 6
Smoke in the building at 8:13 p.m. due to mechanical issues with the roof air conditioner unit at Southside Gallery
Smell of smoke at 10:02 p.m. caused by “very burned” food in the oven at 203 Williams
