This week, HottyToddy.com is rounding up artistic events for this week. Look below to see what fun awaits y’all.
Tuesday, May 10
From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Art Truck will be at Oxford Farmer’s Market to make still life drawings of vegetables using oil pastels.
The University of Mississippi Musuem is hosting a new exhibition: “Gods and Men: Iconography and Identity in the Ancient World.”
This exhibit takes a closer examination of the image of ancient gods, kings, and the common man. Their depictions contain a visual language, once easily understood throughout the ancient world.
The reception for this exhibition will be on Tuesday, May 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 12
The Oxford Acting Studio presents “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight” at 6 p.m. at The Powerhouse.
Roxford University is hosting a spring concert at 6 p.m. at the Lyric.
Combining individual music lessons, group rehearsals, and public concerts at real rock venues, ROXFORD UNIVERSITY helps kids plug in, crank up, and rock out with a new learning experience in Oxford. Rox U believes the most exciting way to learn music—guitar, bass, keys, drums, or vocals—is to involve public performance together as a band.
