Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, May 5
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six alarms, five suspicious persons/activities, two welfare concerns, two lost properties, two noise disturbances, two petit larceny, two parking complaints, a fire department assist, an ambulance assist, a found property, a stolen auto, a grand larceny, a shoplifting and a motorist assist.
Oxford police investigated 11 wrecks, issued 45 traffic citations and made seven arrests on the following charges:
Public intoxication
Possession of fake ID and DUI
Domestic violence – simple assault
Speeding and possession of marijuana in motor vehicle
Careless driving and possession of marijuana in motor vehicle
Improper equipment, no insurance and suspended driver’s license
Malicious mischief, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, emergency medical services request due to an intoxicated person at Stewart Hall, a public drunk with a fake ID at Stockard Hall, a speeding with fake ID and possession of alcohol by minor on university campus, and a public drunk at Stockard Hall.
Oxford Fire Department is currently responding to calls.
