Broderick White – Shoplifting
On Monday, April 22, Oxford police officers were dispatched to Wal-Mart in reference to a report of an unknown male shoplifting multiple electronics valued at $1,117.72. Through investigation, the officers determined that the male, later identified as Broderick Durel White (31 of Memphis, Tennessee) was selling the stolen electronics in Memphis area. After obtaining a warrant and a residential address in Memphis, the detectives notified the Shelby County Fugitive Division and worked in partnership with Memphis police department. They found White at a residence and took him into custody. White is currently held at 201 Poplar Avenue until he can be brought back to Oxford due to a felony warrant in Shelby County and another in Horn Lake, Mississippi for similar crimes. His bond has not been set yet.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six suspicious activities, two disturbances, two reports of lost property, an alarm, an ambulance assist, a noise violation, an ambulance assist, a civil matter, a code violation, a grand larceny, a scam and a petit larceny.
Oxford police investigated six wrecks, issued 16 traffic citations and made — arrests on the following charges:

Littering
Possession of Schedule IV narcotics
Speeding, no driver’s license and a warrant served
No taillights, suspended driver’s license and no insurance
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, two suspicious vehicles, a disturbance at Hefley Hall, an ambulance call for Alpha Delta Pi sorority house and a moving violation per improper equipment in Kincannon parking lot.
Oxford Fire Department received no emergency calls.
