Yalo Brew’s Brewery Tours Tasting and Tunes Features Teardrop City this Friday
Water Valley, Oxford and their surrounding area are in for a treat this Friday evening as Yalobusha Brewing Co. hosts Teardrop City as its musical guests at Brewery Tours Tasting and Tunes – the popular weekly event sponsored by the brewery.
The Teardrop City foursome features popular musicians that have been rocking our area for years: Laurie Stirratt, Tyler Keith, Wallace Lester and George Sheldon. More information on the band can be found on its Facebook page: Facebook.com/Teardrop-City.
I’m not 100 percent sure if the band’s name is a nod to The Monkees tune Teardrop City – but if so, kudos to that! In fact, since it’s hump day and we could all probably use a little pick-me-up – the short video at the top of this post features The Monkees’ Teardrop City just for the heck of it. Enjoy.
Brewery Tours Tasting and Tunes features tours of the facility, beer tastings and local and regional bands that jam until 9 p.m.
Although the weekly event begins at 1 p.m. and tours require a $10 fee, its 6-9 p.m. music block is free of charge and begins early enough that attendees are guaranteed an early night. The $10 fee includes a tour of the unique brewery as well as six 6-ounce samples of Yalo beer (36 awesome ounces in total). The brewery also allows patrons to bring food from any local restaurant if they wish and kids are welcome to attend.
Make plans to spend Friday evening with four of your favorite local musicians and be sure to give the informative tour a try. After all, it’s likely you’ll crave a sip or two after you see its awesome production.
