Ole Miss football fans are ready for the kick off in September against Florida State in the Orange Bowl Stadium in Orlando, but they didn’t have to wait until then to build up the hype.

The Ole Miss fans visited Ole Miss football head coach Hugh Freeze and the director of Ole Miss Athletics, Ross Bjork, during the BancorpSouth Rebel Road Trip. Ole Miss’ Associate Athletics director for media, Kyle Campbell, also went on the trip.

Kyle Campbell said, “We have been welcomed by great crowds at every stop thus far on the BancorpSouth Rebel Road Trip, including approximately 300 fans each at Atlanta and Gulfport. There is tremendous momentum at our university right now, and it is clear the fans are excited about our leadership and future. We look forward to the remaining meetings and the opportunity to personally thank Rebel Nation for their passionate support.”

The trip began on Sunday evening as the bus pulled into the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

“The College Football Hall of Fame is one of the most dynamic venues that has hosted the BancorpSouth Rebel Road Trip, and it was an impressive location to kick off the fifth year of the tour. Mobile is one three new cities for us to take the caravan and gave us a great chance to visit some of those rabid fans outside of the state,” said Campbell.

Then on Monday, the bus made two stops in Mobile, Alabama for the morning and in Gulfport, Mississippi for the afternoon.

Campbell said, “The Mississippi Gulf Coast is always a priority stop on the BancorpSouth Rebel Road Trip, but the energy of the fans there reached a new high this year. The Gulfport Yacht Club was as packed as any venue as we have experienced in our five years. Every inch of standing room space was full, and there were people lined up in the doorways.”

On Tuesday, the bus will make a lunch stop in Meridian and then that evening they will go to West Point.

This Friday morning, the bus will pull into the Oxford Conference Center from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
