Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, April 14
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four disturbances, three alarms, three suspicious activities, two fire department assists, two animal complaints, two civil matters, a false pretense, a lost property, a scam, a harassing phone call, a welfare concern, a motorist assist and an illegally parked car.
Oxford police investigated nine wrecks, issued two traffic citations and made 11 arrests on the following charges:
(3) Possession of drug paraphernalia
(2) Public intoxication
(2) Disorderly conduct
Expired tag and DUI
Careless driving, no driver’s license and DUI
Possession of marijuana, possession of Schedule II narcotics and possession of Schedule IV narcotics
Possession of marijuana, possession of Schedule II narcotics, possession of Schedule IV narcotics and public intoxication
University police responded to the following incidents: a service call for an ambulance at Alpha Tau Omega house, an accidental hit and run at Beta Theta Pi house, a vehicle stop on Hill Drive, a possession of drug paraphernalia with alcohol by minor and a fake ID at Kincannon Hall, an assault at Pittman Hall and a petit larceny at Turner Center.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Smoke detector malfunction at 12:47 a.m. at Alpha Tau Omega house
Smell of smoke at 8:37 a.m. caused by dust burning off the heating unit at 303 Creekwood Lane
Wreck stand-by at 12:06 p.m. where the Battalion Chief came upon a wreck and stood by for police department to arrive at Gertrude Ford Boulevard
Smoke detector activation at 1:45 p.m. caused by worker cutting brick at the Croft Institute
Unauthorized burning of leaves at 2:22 p.m. at Molly Barr Road and Barlew Lane
Carbon dioxide detector activation at 5:31 p.m. caused by a child knocking it off the wall at 802 Old Taylor Road
Smoke detector malfunction at 9:28 p.m. at Alpha Omicron Pi house
Fire alarm pull station activation at 10:53 p.m. at Oxford University Club
