With temperatures heating up and school winding down, what better way to kick off the start of summer than a visit to Goose Creek Club of Oxford? The private club located on Anderson Road, near Wellsgate, offers a range of activities and amenities for the whole family.

Goose Creek offers a casual elegance, while still providing all of the necessities for a relaxing experience. A large outdoor pool, on-site childcare, a restaurant and bar, massage therapy, tennis courts, steam rooms and a gym are just a handful of the amenities that Goose Creek has to offer.

“We are a club designed for the whole family. Our first class facilities, along with our programming separates us from the rest,” club manager Barney Chadwick said.

For those looking to step up their workout, the club offers a state-of-the-art fitness center that includes a team of certified fitness professionals that can provide customized workouts for every member. From group fitness classes to personal training to educational health and wellness classes, there is something for every fitness level at Goose Creek.

When asked what is special about the fitness classes at Goose Creek, fitness trainer, Karen Yelverton said, “They offer uninterrupted ‘you’ time so that you can recharge and relax.”

If tennis is more your style, there are a variety of options for you to channel your inner Wimbledon champion. Goose Creek offers the only clay tennis courts in Oxford. Manager Barney Chadwick said that clay courts are perfect for all experience levels and are the perfect court on which to learn.

They offer kids tennis camps and clinics, along with lessons and tournaments. There are also two full-time pros on staff to help with any tennis needs.

After you get your workout in, your next stop should be The Terrace Grill. Brand new Executive Chef Stevens Flagg, formerly the executive chef at Giardina’s in Greenwood, Mississippi, is preparing an incredible menu and creating a fine dining experience right in the heart of Oxford.

This summer they will be rolling out a brand new schedule of activities. Late night swims, movies at the pool, and bimonthly Sunday Soirees that will include live music, cookouts and tennis mixers are just a few of the activities that will be available to members. The opening of the pool on April 22 is the unofficial start to summer, but the official beginning of summer will kick off with the Memorial Day celebration. The full summer schedule will be available May 1.

For the little geese, Goose Creek is offering a whole slate of activities for the children. Starting in late May, the club is forming their very first swim team. The Goose Creek Sharks will be comprised of children aged five and up and will compete in meets around the area.

Little Goose kids fitness classes will also begin in May. For ages 3-10, there will be weekly play-exercise classes. Kids camps and pool activities will keep the kids of all ages entertained all summer long, while parents take advantage of all the amenities that Goose Creek has to offer.

Trial passes are available at the front desk and during the month of April, they will be offering discounted membership initiation fees. So if you are considering joining, now is the perfect time to sign up and become a member.
