OLHS and H&R Block Team to Defeat Animal Homelessness and Taxes
An unlikely pairing – Oxford Lafayette Humane Society (OLHS) and Oxford’s branch of H&R Block – is taking place today at 1008 North Lamar from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., just in time to meet’s tomorrow’s tax deadline and adopt a friendly dog or cat at the same time.
The event – which features games for the kids, great food and door prizes from local businesses – is currently in full swing despite a little chill and drizzle in the air.
Tax professionals are on hand to answer tricky tax questions and OLHS Directors Jennifer Petermann and Cyd Dunlap are all smiles, as usual. Both the former and the latter will gladly step you through the initial stages of local pet adoptions – be it canine or feline or anywhere in between.
As for food, Dixie Crawfish and Yoknapa Taco are on location just in time for lunch.
The embedded video (top) and the gallery below will give you a preview of what’s going on at H&R Block through 3 this afternoon. The public is invited to attend this free event.
For more information, contact H&R Block at 662-236-1040.
