Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, April 12
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six suspicious activities, four alarms, two animal complaints, two noise violations, two scams, a disturbance, an identity theft, a careless driving and a residential burglary at The Links.
Oxford police investigated 11 wrecks, issued 43 traffic citations and made four arrests on the following charges:
DUI (wreck)
Speeding and suspended driver’s license
No headlights and possession of drug paraphernalia
Ran a stop sign, no insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI
University police responded to the following incidents: nine vehicle stops and a speeding with a fake ID on Intramural Field Road.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Smoke detector activation at 10:47 a.m. due to shower steam on tenth floor at Stockard Hall
Testing the sprinkler system at 6:24 p.m. at Marriott on East Jackson Avenue
Stove fire at 10:29 p.m. that a resident put out with extinguisher at Pittman Hall
