Oxford Crime Report: Monday, April 11
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 10 alarms, three welfare concerns, three phone harassment incidents, an ambulance assist, an illegally-parked car, a suspicious activity, a scam, a civil matter, a disturbance and a malicious mischief.
Oxford police investigated 10 wrecks, issued 13 traffic citations and made no arrests.
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, a vandalism to vehicle at Lamar Hall, a vehicle accident at Brown Hall, a vehicle accident at Lamar Hall, a larceny at Turner Center, a possession of drug paraphernalia on Student Union Drive, and an accidental hit and run at Manning Center.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Smoke detector activation at 11:32 a.m. due to burned bread at Tri-Delta house
Smoke detector activation at 12:35 p.m. by burned food at North Residential College
Working on the alarm system at 1:19 p.m. at Marriott on East Jackson Avenue
Smoke detector alarm at 1:52 p.m. by water leaking onto the device at 1206 Office Park Drive
Fire alarm activation at 2:34 p.m. by a power surge at Turner Center
