Oxford Police Make Arrests for Residential Burglary, Aggravated Assault
Last Thursday and Friday, April 7 – 8, Oxford police investigators arrested two individuals for separate crimes of aggravated assault and residential burglary.
On Thursday, April 7, Oxford police received a phone call from Smith County S.O. that had picked up an individual with an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault. The warrant stems from an incident that occurred over a month ago in Oxford on March 5. The individual, Trey Miller (19 of Raleigh), was inside another person’s home at Hyatt Loop where an argument ensued resulting in Miller pulling out a gun, firing it inside the residence and then fleeing the area. No one was hit by the bullet.
The Oxford police immediately began searching for Miller after the victim identified him. Now that Miller is booked, the Lafayette County Sheriff set the bond at $25,000.
On Friday, April 8, Oxford police investigators arrested Geramy Drummer (19 of Rosedale) for ‘burglary of a dwelling.’
Officers responded to a report of a burglary at Oxford Square Apartments where they began doing a ‘knock-and-talk’ with residents. During this procedure, they spoke to a group of individuals who were using narcotics in the living area of their apartment. The officers then secured and searched the residence where they discovered all the stolen property from the reported burglary. They returned the property to the victim and arrested Drummer on the scene. After the booking, Drummer’s bond was set at $20,000.
