Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, April 7
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four noise violations, four suspicious activities, three disturbances, two ambulance assists, two scams, two welfare concerns, a careless driver, a 911 hang up call, a malicious mischief, a lost property, a harassing phone call, a motorist assist and a residential burglary at Oxford Square Apartments.
Oxford police investigated 13 wrecks, issued 47 traffic citations and made six arrests on the following charges:

(2) Careless driving and DUI
Public intoxication and failure to comply
Obstructing traffic, no driver’s license, no insurance and DUI
University police responded to the following incidents: 10 vehicle stops.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Ambulance standby at 11:28 a.m. when a person felt like he was going to pass out at Canterbury Crest.
Gas line standby at 4:02 p.m. when workers cut a natural gas line at Enterprise Drive – the fire department stood by for Center Point Energy to cap it off.
Overheated car at 4:52 p.m. at South Lamar at BancorpSouth – a person called in saying a car blew up, but what occurred was the driver took the radiator cap off and the steam hit him in the face.
