EatingOxford: Cook Out Comes to Oxford
The first Mississippi outpost of Cook Out (cookout.com) will soon inhabit the former location of KFC/Long John Silver’s at 2195 Jackson Avenue West.
Driving by the location, you’ll find interior and exterior work already well underway. No one from Cook Out was available for comment, but we can safely assume an opening date prior to the start of the Ole Miss Football season.
Cook Out is a popular hamburger chain that began in Greensboro, North Carolina, in 1989, and quickly expanded throughout the southeast with its “outdoor style” cooking of burgers, chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. Its extensive lineup of over 40 creamery style handspun milkshakes, low prices, and late-night hours have also proven to be a big draw.
