Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, April 5
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four alarms, three suspicious activities, three careless drivers, two 911 hang up calls, a welfare concern, a disturbance, a malicious mischief, an improper parking, a scam, a fire department assist, a petit larceny and a lost property.
Oxford police investigated 13 wrecks, issued 28 traffic citations and made four arrests on the following charges:
DUI (wreck)
Careless driving and DUI
No seatbelt, no insurance and suspended driver’s license
Careless driving, no insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, a suspicious vehicle at Housing Warehouse, a warrant served on campus, emergency medical services request for an intoxicated person at Kincannon Hall, a suspicious vehicle at Campus Walk and a suspicious vehicle in Fraternity Alley.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Report of grass fire at 4:08 p.m. that was put out by construction workers at 1417 Jefferson Avenue area
Smoke detector activation at 9:49 p.m. by pressing hair at Hefley Hall
Wreck at 10:09 p.m. on Highway 6 around Pirate Adventure but no extrication was needed
