Two Mississippians Advance to Top 3 on American Idol
La’Porsha Renae and Trent Harmon, both natives of Mississippi, officially advanced to the next round on the iconic singing show, American Idol, last night.
The two singers have wowed audiences across the world with unique voices and the ability to entertain. Last weekend, American Idol filmed Trent and La’Porsha in Mississippi for the “homecoming” episode, which aired last night.
La’Porsha in McComb:
La’Porsha Renae went back home to McComb, Mississippi, where the town threw her a parade and she performed at her first concert.
Trent in Amory:
Trent Harmon went back home to Amory, Mississippi, where the town also gave him a parade and he held a concert for his hometown fans.
History in the making:
Mississippi is known as the birthplace of America’s music, so it is no surprise that these two Mississippians are dominating the American Idol competition. It is speculated that La’Porsha and Trent will be the final two contestants, and ensure a Mississippi winner. The history making does not stop there. American IdolĀ is currently in its final season of running. What a way to go out- having two Mississippians in the top three, and the last American Idol a possible Mississippian!
Continue to watch and support Trent and La’Porsha next week on the three-night American Idol Grand Finale show starting April 5, at 8 to 9 p.m. (ET/PT). In the final show, the 15th American Idol will be crowned, along with a tribute to all past American Idols.
