Thacker Mountain Radio Spills Onto the Oxford Square
It was a big and beautiful event last night (Thursday, March 24) as the Thacker Mountain Radio Hour found itself on the receiving end of a standing room only crowd and weather fine enough to force the huge glass windows outside of Off Square Books to be propped open for the first time this season, spilling out cool North Mississippi rhythm/blues/country/rock music onto the Oxford Square.
Guests at last night’s broadcast included author Keith Lee Morris (Traveler’s Rest); the Georgia acoustic duo, Cicada Rhythm; the Oxford band, Anne Freeman and the Garbage Sons; plus the winner of the Elvis Meets Einstein writing competition for the third year in a row, David Tran.
And, as always, host Jim Dees kept the throng of listeners chuckling along as the Thacker house band, the Yalobushwhackers, maintained a smooth and steady rhythm to keep the evening at an even keel between guests.
Check out the embedded videos and photos in this post to revisit a very special night in history book that is Thacker Mountain Radio.
