Oxford’s Hidden Gem:
The HottyToddy.com Weather team visited a Oxford hidden gem this morning: The Oxford-University Depot, which was built in 1872.
The depot served as an active transportation hub for the university and Oxonians until 1941. The railroad was built by the Mississippi R.R., and was later part of the Illinois Central Line.
The university purchased the depot in 1983, and it was used for storage. Under former Ole Miss Chancellor, Robert Khayat, the depot was restored in 2003. Today, the depot serves as a multipurpose facility where groups can meet for meetings or lectures on campus.
