Sophomore Grayce Majam shot a two-out triple to right field in the sixth inning, lifting the Ole Miss Softball team to a 2-1 victory over ULM Wednesday night at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.

The Rebels (24-5) were only able to muster out four hits on the night, but it was Natalie Martinez’s pinch-hit single, and Courtney Syrett’s walk that setup Majam’s hard knock to change the game late in the sixth.

In the circle, sophomore Elisha Jahnke was once again consistent for Ole Miss, improving to 5-2 on the year after throwing a complete game with just one run allowed. The Grand Junction, Colorado native struck out a career-high seven batters and allowed six Warhawk hits in the win.

On the opposite side, ULM’s Melanie Coyne allowed just four hits, two earned runs and walked three with three strikeouts.

ULM’s lone run on the night came in the first inning off two walks, a sacrifice bunt, and RBI single up the middle. The Warhawks went on to leave eight runners on base, while the Rebels stranded five.

Freshman Hailey Lunderman was 2-for-3 at the plate, while Syrett also reached safely twice on walks and scored a run.

As a team the Rebels stole two bases and are now just one off tying the single-season school record (90), and two away from breaking the record set by the 2015 squad.

The victory also extends the Rebels’ school record non-conference win streak to now 14 games dating back to Feb. 24.
