Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, March 10
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: seven alarms, six suspicious activities, a fire department assist, a noise violation, a malicious mischief, a careless driver, a complaint of lost property, an ambulance assist, a 911 hang up call, a welfare concern, a motorist assist and a disturbance.
Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued 13 traffic citations and made seven arrests on the following charges:
(4) Public intoxication
Public intoxication and open container
Leaving the scene of an accident and DUI
Public intoxication and disorderly conduct
University police responded to the following incidents: a vehicle stop on Grove Loop, a careless driving on Fraternity Row, a public drunk with fake ID at Kincannon Hall, a simple assault with fear of bodily harm at Guyton Drive, a vandalism to vehicle at Kincannon Hall, and an accidental hit and run at Ford Center.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Smell of smoke at 8:22 a.m. due to a pump in the basement overheating at 1221 Madison Avenue
Smoke detector malfunction at 10:39 a.m. at Sigma Pi house
