HottyToddy.com caught up with Scottie Nell Hughes recently while she was between speaking engagements.

Our readers have seen Scottie many times on CNN, Hannity, CBS This Morning and numerous other national shows. This spring the dynamic communicator is covering the Donald J. Trump campaign for CNN. We spoke with Scottie while she was preparing to represent “The Donald” in Williamson County, just south of Nashville.

HottyToddy.com: Scottie, share with us how you became affiliated with the Trump campaign.

Scottie Nell Hughes: I have been a huge fan of Mr. Trump for quite some time. On two occasions I was a finalist for “The Apprentice.” Two years ago I had the pleasure to interview Mr.Trump. At that time there was speculation that he might be a possible candidate for the Mayor of NYC.

HottyToddy.com: Did you ever think he would pursue the presidency?

Scottie Nell Hughes: I was skeptical at first (about May), but became convinced once I observed the people’s reaction to his candidacy. His ability to interact with all levels of individuals is amazing.

HottyToddy.com: Your history with the Tea Party underwrites your passion for politics.

Scottie Nell Hughes: I have been active since 2012 and became a strong advocate once I saw the Tea Party being demonized by the leftist media.

HottyToddy.com: What is driving the national enthusiasm for Mr. Trump that has clearly made him the GOP frontrunner?

Scottie Nell Hughes: Mr. Trump has a positive message that is translating into a sense of action behind his words. This presidential campaign is different than all others as previously candidates were taken out of the race if they broke with tradition. This year it is the exact opposite with the outsiders being rewarded.

HottyToddy.com: This coming Tuesday (Super Tuesday) how do you believe Mr. Trump will score?

Scottie Nell Hughes: Extremely well. He is leading most every state poll by double digits and is basically tied with Cruz in Texas. It is essential to carry your home state. In Texas, if a candidate can receive 51 percent of the vote, he would be awarded all 155 delegates. Currently Senator Cruz is polling in the 30s. Cruz has pulled out of Alabama making Texas this year’s version of The Alamo for his camp.

HottyToddy.com: How do you see the November general election playing out if Mr. Trump heads the ticket?

Scottie Nell Hughes: I believe he will select a running mate who is younger and one he could make a natural transition with once his terms are complete. I truly believe that it is going to take 16 years to repair the damage that has occurred in our country. I believe there is a strong possibility that his cabinet could be announced in advance of the election to demonstrate to the American public the great contrast with the Democrats.

HottyToddy.com: There appears to be a large talent pool to draw from.

Scottie Nell Hughes: Individuals like former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Colonel Allen West and other highly respected names should all be under consideration.

HottyToddy.com: Your Grove experiences have familiarized yourself with our passion here in Oxford.

Scottie Nell Hughes: The Grove represents to me family, tradition and pride. I would like to see this same pride spread across the entire United States. If it does, we will truly make America Great Again!

This young lady gets you inspired just by listening to her passion and love for our country. A native of middle Tennessee and conservative spokesperson for many national causes, Scottie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in broadcast communications and political science.

I can envision her as White House Communications Director in the future should this be of interest to her. Whatever she decides to do, you can bet she will be accomplishing it as “winning” is this lady’s middle name!
