Makers Market Returns to the Powerhouse March 5
After a successful February gathering, Oxford’s favorite art and crafts market, Maker’s Market, will set up for its third sale of 2016 at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center on University Avenue.
According to its website (OxfordMakersMarket) the Oxford Maker’s Market, founded in 2009, is a local art and crafts market based in Oxford. It sets up on the first Saturday of each month and operates from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. at various locations around Oxford. The market is committed to underexposed and unrepresented talent and handmade goods of any and all styles. It provides an outlet for vendors of a wide variety of mediums and a live performance area for performing artists at each event. Basically, if it is handmade or homegrown it is acceptable to sell at market. The market provides a children’s market area for budding entrepreneurs as well.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, March 5, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., is expecting at least 20 vendors.
Market organizers would like to reiterate that it is their practice to allow first-time vendors, non-profits and fundraising organizations to participate in the monthly event free of charge.
Artists or musicians interested in learning more about Oxford Maker’s Market are encouraged to visit OxfordMakerMarket.org or contact them by email at oxfordmakersmarket@gmail.com. The market can also be found on Facebook at OxfordMakersMarketFacebook
Each monthly Maker’s Market is a family-friendly event and is free and open to the public.
