SEC Network Expands Coverage of SEC Championships in Year Two with “SEC Inside”
SEC Network is expanding on its coverage of Southeastern Conference Championships this year with high-end cinematography and new vantage points. The network is utilizing its newest series, SEC Inside, to further showcase the SEC’s biggest moments of the year.
SEC Inside launched this fall chronicling a home matchup for all 14 SEC football teams. The show implemented unique camera angles and previously unheard sounds from the coaches and players leading up to and during the game.
“As we said over the summer, we’re placing a premium on storytelling,” said Rosalyn Durant, ESPN senior vice president, college networks. “SEC Inside has been a great vehicle for that, and utilizing it for SEC Championships will provide fans with a unique vantage point into sports and teams that they are passionate about.”
SEC Inside will chronicle Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Gymnastics, Softball and Baseball Championship games on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. ET (consistent with its fall time slot):
- SEC Inside: Women’s Basketball Tournament –March 9
- SEC Inside: Men’s Basketball Tournament –March 16
- SEC Inside: Gymnastics Championship –March 23
- SEC Inside: Softball Tournament –May 18
- SEC Inside: Baseball Tournament –June 1
The new shows are in addition to live event airings and SEC Now coverage of every SEC championship game.
Up first are the SEC Women’s and Men’s Basketball Tournaments as part of ESPN’s Champ Week presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods.
Women’s Basketball Tournament on SEC Network:
- SEC Nowis live from Jacksonville, Fla., as the pre-game show for First, Second and Quarterfinal rounds of the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament. SEC Network will also recap each day’s events, including post-game coverage for the Semifinals on ESPNU and the Championship game on ESPN.
- Maria Taylor, and former coaches Nell Fortner and Andy Landers, will provide commentary throughout the tournament from the SEC Nowset.
Men’s Basketball Tournament on SEC Network:
- SEC Nowis live from Nashville on a courtside perch at the Bridgestone Arena.
- Dari Nowkhah and analysts Dane Bradshaw, Tony Delk and Daymeon Fishback provide pre and post-game coverage on SEC Network throughout the tournament.
Additional 2016 SEC Championships, Television Schedules
In the 2015-16 academic year, SEC Network has already carried Soccer, Swimming & Diving, and surrounding coverage of the SEC Football Championship. SEC Network’s additional championship schedule for the year includes: Indoor Track & Field, Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving, Gymnastics, Equestrian, Men’s and Women’s Golf, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Softball, Outdoor Track & Field and Baseball.
