Ole Miss Ballroom Dance Club Announces March Dance Party
On Saturday, March 5, the Ole Miss Ballroom Dance Club (OMBDC) is having its monthly dance party and everyone’s invited.
The dance/party is scheduled between 7 and 9:30 p.m. and will be held at the Ole Miss Band Hall directly across from the Ford Center on the Ole Miss campus.
The popular OMBDC dance party is a casual gathering that offers group dance lessons, snacks and dance mixers; all taking place with a variety of music playing in a constant loop for participants.
As always at these events, all levels of dancers are welcome and urged to attend. Existing members are always happy to instruct and give assistance to those who may be a little intimidated with the surplus of dance steps.
Although non-members of OMBDC are welcome, club administrators stress that membership has its advantages; most notably, admission discounts to these and other club events. Yearly membership dues are set at $15 for students and $25 for non-students.
Normal admission fees are set at $5 for student members; $9 for student non-members. General admission for the general public will be $8 for members and $12 for non-members.
No high-heeled ladies shoes will be allowed on the dance floor as the university is trying to protect its flooring in the band hall.
According to Sperling: “It really hasn’t been an issue so far (the high heels). We’re allowed to wear low, wide-heeled shoes, which are easier to dance in anyway.”
For more information, visit the OMBDC Facebook page at OMBDC or contact Lauryn Sperling by phone at 815-762-4015.
