Mr. Feather’s Brings Crawfish Saturdays to Oxford
Mr. Feather’s is a honky-tonk bar located on Thacker Loop in Oxford. Although Mr. Feather’s has been open since the beginning of the 2015 football season, some changes have recently been made.
Mr. Feather’s, which is open Monday through Saturday, now boils crawfish every Saturday during spring.
Mr. Feather’s bartender Haley Harriman said, “I think it’s the atmosphere that makes our crawfish Saturdays the best in Oxford. There is always something to do here, and the guys who cook the crawfish make sure it has the perfect amount of spice and that it’s always hot.”
On Saturdays, the doors open at 11 a.m., and the crawfish is served at 1 p.m. One of few outdoor venues, and the only honky-tonk in Oxford, Mr. Feather’s boasts country deejays on Friday nights and country bands on Saturday nights.
Scott Michael, owner of Mr. Feather’s and Roosters, who is well known in Oxford, opened the venue to have something different than the bars on the Square.
Instead of clubbing music, Mr. Feather’s plays country music and has corn holes set up outside. The patrons have three bars to get refreshments and good eats inside or outside of Mr. Feather’s.
“I always come to Mr. Feather’s because I like the people and the owner,” said Ole Miss student Scotlynn Farmer. “It has the best atmosphere, and there is actually room to walk around unlike a lot of other bars.”
According to Harriman, the most popular thing on Mr. Feather’s menu is the catfish bites. Other specials include happy hours from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday where domestics are $1, wine is $2 and wells are $3.
“My favorite night to come to Mr. Feather’s is on Thursday because wings are 25 cents,” said Ole Miss student Savannah Stockton. “You can always find my friends and I here on Thursdays.”
Whether you want to relax at happy hour after work or have a fun weekend night, Mr. Feather’s is a good spot to hang out. To keep up with the weekend festivities, visit Mr. Feather’s on Facebook.

Not open several Sundays when they advertise that they are…same behavior of the failed restaurants in that location before them
