Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Sunday, February 19 – 21
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 11 disturbances, 10 alarms, seven welfare concerns, six simple assaults, five suspicious activities, five noise violations, four petit larcenies, four careless drivers, four lost properties, three animal complaints, three ambulance assists, three 911 hang-up calls, three improper parking, two identity thefts, two motorist assists, two malicious mischief, two trespassers, two auto burglaries (400 block South Lamar and 400 block Remy Boulevard), a public intoxication, a home burglary at 400 block Anchorage Road and a civil matter.
Oxford police investigated 17 wrecks, issued 75 traffic citations and made 19 arrests on the following charges:

Careless driver, no driver’s license and DUI
No seatbelt and possession of drug paraphernalia
Obstructing traffic, no seatbelt, fake ID and DUI
No Tag, no insurance, suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia
Public intoxication, fake ID, possession of Schedule II Narcotics and possession of Schedule IV Narcotics
University police responded to the following incidents:
Friday, February 19

Possession of drug paraphernalia on Northgate Drive
Suspicious vehicle at Crosby Hall
Moving violation per driving without headlights, DUI and a fake ID in Women’s Terrance Lot
Disturbance per loud, unnecessary noise at Sigma Nu house
Possession of alcohol by minors in Fraternity Alley
Saturday, February 20

Service call for an ambulance at Blackburn Intramural Fields
Accidental hit and run on Jackson Avenue
Vehicle accident in Women’s Terrance Lot
Sunday, February 21

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:

Smoke detector activation at 11:08 a.m. due to the janitor accidentally spraying water into the mop closet smoke detector at Phi Delta Theta house
Smoke detector activation at 2:05 p.m. due to steam at 308 Park Drive
A wreck but no entrapment at 7:56 p.m. at 189 County Road 198
Extrication at 11:55 p.m. due to people being stuck on the elevator in Deaton Hall
Saturday, February 20
Gas spill at 2:22 p.m. due to a pick-up truck carrying a five-gallon can of gas going around a corner too fast at Stone Road and Washington Avenue
Sunday, February 21
Prank pull of fire alarm at 1:43 a.m. in the kitchen at the Pi Kappa Phi house
