Ole Miss Host Mizzou on the Hardwood
Ole Miss returns home to the Pavilion Tuesday night to face the Missouri Tigers. The tip-off for this SEC showdown is slated for 8 p.m. on SEC Network.
Ole Miss is 17-10, 7-7 SEC after defeating Auburn 69-59 on Saturday. Senior Stefan Moody recorded 23 points with 19 of them in the first half. He knocked down four of nine from behind the arc and added five assists in completing the season sweep of Auburn.
While teammate Marcanvis Hymon posted 12 points with six boards and averaged 15.5 ppg, 8.0 rpg in the pair of wins over the Tigers.
The Tigers are 10-17 overall and 3-11 in the SEC after falling at Arkansas (84-72) Saturday. The Tigers had posted back-to-back home wins over Tennessee and South Carolina before the road setback to the Razorbacks. Mizzou is 10-5 at home this year, but 0-12 in road and neutral games.
Freshman foward Kevin Puryear leads the team in scoring at 11.6 ppg and is only Tigers averaging in double figures. Puryear is also second on the team in rebounding pulling down 4.7 boards a game. Sophomore guard Namon Wright leads Missouri in rebounding grabbing 5.1 per game.
Mizzou is tied for 12th in the league in scoring in conference games averaging just 66.3 ppg and is also next to last in field goal percentage in SEC games shooting only 39.4 percent from the field.
The Tuesday night’s meeting between Rebels and Tigers will be the seventh meeting since the Tigers joined the SEC in 2012-13. Ole Miss leads the series 5-1 and have won four straight, including a 76-73 victory in Columbia earlier this season.
