Breaking: Batesville Junior High School Evacuated After Bomb Threat
Update from South Panola School District: “May be slight delay in buses- not too long; parents should have received AIM call on instructions for car rider pick up.”
The South Panola School District, located in Batesville, Mississippi, just 24 miles from Oxford, announced 57 minutes ago that the Batesville Junior High School has been evacuated due to a bomb threat.
The school district posted on its public Facebook page:
“Batesville Junior High School has been evacuated due to a bomb threat. All BJHS students, faculty and staff are safe and away from the building. Law enforcement officials are in the process of “sweeping” the BJHS building/campus. Once officials finish their sweep, classes will resume as normal. No BJHS student is allowed to check out or leave at this time.”
The bomb threat comes just weeks after the Jan. 14, bomb threat to the South Panola High School, where no bomb was found after the evacuation.
