Ole Miss Hosts Arkansas Saturday
Ole Miss hosts the Arkansas Razorbacks this Saturday afternoon inside the Pavilion.
The Rebels (15-9, 5-6 SEC) look to rebound after dropping a 77-72 heartbreaker to Florida Tuesday night. Against the Gators, Tomasz Gielo scored 20 points and tied a career high with 8 rebounds in the Rebels’ road setback. It marked Gielo’s second 20-point effort this season, as he knocked down seven of 12 shots from the field and three of six attempts from behind the arc.
Sebastian Saiz got to return to action after missing the previous six games with an eye injury. The second-leading rebounder in the SEC at 9.6 rpg, Saiz played 26 minutes, posted four points and grabbed six boards in his first action since January 16.
Arkansas is 12-12 and 5-6 in the SEC after falling 78-46 on the road at Mississippi State Tuesday. However, the Razorbacks had won three of four before the setback at MSU. Arkansas has three players averaging more than 15.0 ppg led by junior guard Dusty Hannahs at 16.5 ppg, senior guard Anthlon Bell at 16.2 ppg and junior guard Moses Kingsley at 15.9 ppg.
Those are the only three Razorbacks averaging in double figures. Hannahs leads the league in free throw percentage at 87.5 percent, while Arkansas is fifth in the SEC as a team at 70.7 percent. Kingsley leads the Hogs, and ranks fourth in the conference, in rebounding pulling down 9.0 boards a game. The Razorbacks lead the SEC in 3-point shooting in league play hitting 42.4 percent from behind the arc, but are tied for 12th in the scoring defense allowing 76.5 ppg.
The Saturday’s game will be the 75th all-time meeting. The Razorbacks currently holds a 43-31 lead in the series, but in Oxford however the Rebels own a 18-6 advantage in the series.
