Bank of Commerce Oxford – More Than Just a Bank
The Bank of Commerce has been serving customers in Greenwood, Mississippi since 1904. The financial institution started small and opened its temporary quarters in the offices of T.R. Henderson — a respected medical doctor who served as charter member and first president of the Bank of Commerce.
During the Great Depression, the bank maintained its customers’ trust as the Bank of Commerce remained strong. The bank grew as its officers became more and more involved in community activities. Working hand in hand with the people of Leflore County, the Bank of Commerce survived the Great Depression and remained stable as the New Deal years evolved into the War Years.
Today the bank is going strong, with locations in its hometown of Greenwood and locations in Oxford and Starkville. Matt Parham is city president of the Oxford Branch and has been with the financial institution since 2008. Parham said the bank’s mission was to provide customers with the best service possible in all of their banking needs.
“The Oxford location has been opened since 2005,” Parham said. “We offer any type of consumer checking, savings, loans and mortgages, and of course, business checking, deposits, and small and larger commercial loans. We are there for our customers to serve any need and we can take care of it locally- and we always answer the phone.”
Parham said the Bank of Commerce in Oxford- and all locations- offers online banking for its customer’s convenience and a mobile phone app that currently has no charge associated with the service.
“However, there may be charges associated with text messaging and data usage on your phone,” Parham said. “Check with your wireless phone carrier for more information, and of course, you must first enable your bank account(s) for online banking before using mobile.”
For all the rules of online and mobile banking, just check the convenient terms and conditions information that are available for each service.
Parham said one of the best things about Bank of Commerce is the small town atmosphere the institution offers and the fast, friendly customer service.
“We love being a small community bank that can take care of your needs locally with fast service,” Parham said, “and we are very proud to announce that we will be opening another branch in downtown Columbus, Mississippi within the next 60 days.”
At present, all Bank of Commerce locations are open Monday-Thursday – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
