Ole Miss Soccer Announces 2016 Signing Class

Just over two months after making history within the Ole Miss Soccer program, head coach Matt Mott and his staff kept the momentum rolling with the announcement of the 2016 signing class Monday.

The Rebels added seven star-studded players to its crop for the future of the program, including three forwards, three defenders and a goalkeeper.

Included in the class are Shannon Maitland (5-4, D/MF, Belleville, Illinois), Gabby Little (5-7, F, Collierville, Tennessee), Madison Meador (5-7, D, Ballwin, Missouri), Grace Waugh (5-5, D/MF, Plano, Texas), Claire Williams (5-7, GK, Oak Park, California), Maddi Falter (5-6, F, Murfreesboro, Tennessee) and Alley Houghton (5-3, F, Oxford, Mississippi).

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner out of Houston High School in Germantown, Tennessee … Named Gatorade Player of the Year … Helped the Mustangs to state championships in 2013 and 2015 … Earned four district and regional championships from 2012-15 … School ranked No. 1 nationally by MaxPreps in 2015 … Tallied 65 goals and 51 career assists for the Mustangs … Houston High School Honors Academy 2012-15 and honor roll 2012-16 … Coached in high school by David Wolff.

CLUB/ODP: Member of the Tennessee ODP 2010-14 … 2014 Region III Pool and played in the 2014 Thanksgiving Regional Event … Also played for the Tennessee Soccer Club, where she totaled nearly 100 goals and 40 assists for the U15-17 teams … 2012 RPL Champions and 2012 USYS National Finalist … 2013 MRL Premier Division Champions … 2014 Region III MVP and Gold Boot Award Winner … 2014 USYS National Best.

Alley Houghton | Forward | 5-3 | Oxford, Miss. | Lafayette HS

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner out of Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, California … Helped the Lions to a Division II CIF runner-up finish in 2015 … Helped the Lions to the Division II CIF Championship in 2014, and part of the 2013 club that finished Division III State runners up … Named All-Marmonte League and earned the Lion Award … Recorded a 0.79 save percentage as just a sophomore, allowing 0.92 goals per game … Tallied a 0.80 save percentage and 0.95 GAA as a junior … Has recorded shutouts in half her matches played in her high school career … Received the Lion Scholar Award each year … Named a Top Ten Scholar, Headmasters List, Junior class representative, Senior Vice President and National Honor Society … Coached in high school by Sebastian Alvarado.

CLUB/ODP: Member of the Eagles Soccer Club ECNL, where she held a 1.17 goals allowed average and 0.80 save percentage.
