Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Sunday, February 5 – 7
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 10 suspicious activities, seven alarms, five careless drivers, five disturbances, five welfare concerns, three noise violations, two fire department assists, two improper parking, two simple assaults, two animal complaints, a lost property, a civil matter, a public intoxication, a 911 hang up call, harassing phone calls, a code violation, a shoplifting, a trespassing, a motorist assist, and a credit card fraud.
Oxford police investigated 11 wrecks, issued 67 traffic citations and made 22 arrests on the following charges:

(3) Careless driving and DUI
(2) Public intoxication and fake ID
Speeding, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana in a vehicle
Careless driving, no driver’s license and DUI
One headlight and suspended driver’s license
Expired tag, no driver’s license and DUI
Speeding, running a red light and DUI
Minor in possession and DUI
Speeding and fake ID
Minor in possession
Domestic violence
Petit larceny
University police responded to the following incidents:
Friday, February 5

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Friday, February 5
Smoke detector activation at 8:36 p.m. due to burned food at Country Club of Oxford
Pull station malfunction at 11:35 p.m. on the second floor at Kappa Sigma house
Saturday, February 6
Smell of burning reported at 1:55 a.m. at Pittman Hall but nothing was discovered
Sunday, February 7
Smoke detector activation at 1:55 p.m. due to cooking at Captain D’s
Small fire at 5:04 p.m. caused by cheese boiling over onto a stove eye at 1120 Mimosa Drive
Smoke detector activation at 5:26 p.m. by smoke going into the kitchen from the outside grilling at 100 Fern Grove
Smoke detector activation at 7:23 p.m. by cooking at Northgate B 107
