Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, January 28
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: three disturbances, three suspicious activities, three welfare concerns, two noise violations, a careless driver, a petit larceny, harassing phone calls, a shoplifting, an improper parking, an identity theft, and an alarm.
Oxford police investigated 10 wrecks, issued 107 traffic citations and made 18 arrests on the following charges:
(4) Possessions of drug paraphernalia
(2) DUI
Fake ID
Open container
Warrant served
No insurance and DUI
No turn signal and DUI
Careless driving and DUI
Running a red light and DUI
No driver’s license and no insurance
Speeding and suspended driver’s license
Expired tag and possession of drug paraphernalia
Suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia
Careless driving, no headlights, suspended driver’s license and DUI
University police responded to the following incidents: six vehicle stops, a moving violation per improper equipment and a suspended driver’s license on Rebel Drive, a handicap parking violation with possession of drug paraphernalia at Residential Hall 1, and a vehicle accident in Women’s Terrance Lot.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following call: an unauthorized burning at 5:44 p.m. in a yard at a residence on Highway 30.
