OHS Journalism Department Boston Butt Fundraiser in Full Swing
The Oxford High School (OHS) Journalism Department’s annual Boston butt sale is in full swing—perfect timing for anyone planning their Super Bowl Party to add a freshly-cooked Boston butt to their game day menu.
The high school fundraiser will help pay the way for OHS student media staff to attend the 2016 Southern Interscholastic Press Association Convention in Columbia, South Carolina, March 4-6, 2016.
The Smoke Shop and Cookout Catering of Oxford is teaming up with OHS journalism students by preparing the Boston butts, which are $30 each. Only 100 freshly-cooked Boston butts will be sold now through Monday, February 1, 2016, or while supplies last. Orders will be ready for pick up on Saturday, February 6—the Saturday of Super Bowl weekend—from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Oxford High School located at 101 Charger Loop.
According to event planners, when individuals pick up their orders, each Boston butt will be warm, having just been cooked and wrapped up, and ready to eat on the spot that day. To place an order, contact OHS Journalism Adviser John Wilbert at (662) 234-1562, ext. 71211, or email jrwilbert@oxfordsd.org.
